Almost everything we purchase arrives in packaging, which can serve multiple purposes: barriers to chemical, physical, biological and vapour contaminants, protecting from the product, containment, convenience, packing/stacking efficiency, handling, marketing, disposal and dispensing of product - to name a few obvious ones.
We will be exploring a wide range of packaging facets from fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), specialist requirements for nuclear medicines, new light mitigated technologies that inactivate micro-organisms, novel polymeric materials made from agricultural crops that replace oil-based packaging, prizewinning innovations in commercial packaging as well as a synopsis of our packaging industry and future trends.
